Amusing Vintage ANRI Men Singing Trio Bar Set - Can Opener, Corkscrew, Cork Stopper This amusing Vintage Italian set of three carved and painted wood drunk songsters is a quite unique and very old bar set. It features three guys singing with the one in the middle playing a guitar, tghe other two have their hands in thier pockets. All of them are singing their hearts out with their mouths open wide. When you remove their heads you find one that is a bottle opener, one a corkscrew and the third one is a cork. They are hardcarved wood probably pine from the research I have done they were made in Italy by ANRI in the 1940's - 1950's. The set was given to me by the previous owner of my house about 15 years ago. He got them while on a vacation in Italy in the mid to late 1940's. These adorable crooners have been sitting on a shelf in the bar of my smoke free house until I moved a few years ago. These type of bar sets were manufactured by Anri from 1912 through 1976 and sold in North America and Europe. These original carvings were actually caricatures of the villagers who carved them and no two are exactly alike. The most common models are kissing couples, hat tippers and drinkers, many including simple moving parts with internal connections. These bsr tool aren’t exactly practical to use everyday but they are definitely entertaining !! This set is in EXCELLENT VINTAGE condition with no chips, cracks, breaks or hairlines. The cork appears to have been replaced on the singer with the yelow hat. As seen in the pictures the cork is a little big and looks to be newer than the the rest of the set. The middle man with the gutar and yellow hat man do wiggle a little if you jostle them. The back of the wood platform is stamped MADE IN ITALY as seen in the pictures. The bottom has a worn blue felt over the wood.Overall this is an outstanding piece and would be a GREAT addition to a bar and/or Anri carved figure collection.
